TEMPLE UNIVERSITY MILITARY AND VETERAN SERVICES CENTER AND THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Since 2012, Temple University Military and Veteran Service Center has provided a forum for military and women veterans to discuss the challenges and issues that women veterans faced in transitioning from military life to civilian life, including pursuit of a secondary education. Women who served, often have not been equally acknowledged and recognized for their service to this country.
The Women Veterans Forum focuses exclusively on the unique needs of women veterans and provides them with the opportunity to have “real conversations” about these tough challenges, within a safe place to share their story and seek support from their peers. The forum provides guest speakers, a luncheon and panel discussions on a range of topics: military sexual trauma (MST), mental health, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), health care, education, employment, housing, and homelessness. Veteran organizations across the tri-state are invited to participate in a resource fair, at which pertinent information about veteran support services can be shared with attendees.
Temple University Military and Veteran Services Center Women Veterans Forum is truly an event designed to honor all women who have served our country. It is a day in which women who served can come to renew, refresh and restore their mind, body and spirit.
